Leyburn Walkers Are Welcome Walking Festival 2010

Walkers are Welcome Towns Network was started at Hebden Bridge in 2007 - the idea being to promote towns which had something special to offer the walker.

In June 2009 Leyburn gained Walkers are Welcome status and the committee behind the initiative decided that the way forward would be to have a Walking Festival, to promote Leyburn and Wensleydale, and all it has to offer.

The Leyburn Walkers Are Welcome Committee is organising Leyburn's first walking festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 18, 19 and 20 June.

  Parking in Leyburn

The Leyburn Walkers Are Welcome Group asks walkers visiting the town to use the long-stay car park behind the Golden Lion Hotel. This provides easy access to the town and town walks for a small charge. Parking in and around the Market Place is free but is designed for shoppers and short-stay visitors. If you are going on a walk of more than two hours, please consider the needs of local shoppers and use the long-stay car park. Thank you.
